Tis The Season To Sell Your Books Back!

Finals are over. It feels amazing. However, I do not think that I have gone to bed before 3am in a week. At the beginning of the week it was mainly finals that kept me up, but finals are over with so shouldn't I be able to sleep now? No.

Check outs have been consuming our lives. This is the most check outs we have had at semester in a long time. Most people are just moving rooms, floors, or halls but there are a few that are not returning. That is too bad.

Wednesday I finished my finals and thought that we could really relax now, inbetween check outs that is, but it just got crazier. Around 9ish we all got called for an emergency meeting. Turned out that the fire alarm system in Concho broke. If there was a fire we would have no idea. Yeah not good. Sooooo, what we had to do was rounds every hour on the hour until 6 in the morning. I was on the early shift 11 to 1 with Rick, Alyssa and Hope. We had a lot of laughs because we were soo loopy. We had to have air horns in case we needed to evacuate and Rick put his in his front pocket. He bent over twice and both times set off the air horn scaring himself. It was two very priceless moments.

Thursday we had our staff party and luckily for us the system was fixed so we could relax and have fun. From there I went to DeAnna's to have family Christmas with Daniel, Desiree, and Shane. Yep that is right Shane came! It was great fun and we all got a lot of great presents. SHANE GOT ME A PINK SNUGGIE!! I am wearing it right now and it is amazing.

I'm on duty tonight. No one is here so it should be a good night. Maybe I will go hang out in the lobby and watch a movie inbetween rounds.

snowflakes in the air, carols everywhere

It snowed. Last Friday I woke up to a winter wonderland. It was amazing! I had been wanting snow for so long and it finally came. It even snowed in Houston!

We still had classes, boo. However, two of mine were cancelled so it was pretty nice. I actually got to enjoy the snow this time. It was nice that it was on a Friday so we could really just relax. Desiree, DeAnna, Daniel and I decorated the tree and watched the movie New in Town. Pretty good movie. It was funny. We really just laid around and relaxed before we had to start studying.

It is now the wonderful Monday of finals week. I had one final today and will have three on Wednesday. Yay. I am just ready to be done with my last fall semester! Around 3 0'clock Wednesday, life will be amazing. Just saying.

dreaming of a white christmas

Thanksgiving was wonderful. My grandparents were in from Chicago and my sister and her family came over. It was a little harder this year because Thanksgiving was always my Aunt Charlotte's favorite holiday. She passed away in late July and it just wasn't the same without her. I got to see Abbie and hang out with her and a few other Katy people. We missed Carla. She is busy playing in Australia! Lucky! My mom, grandmother, and I did a lot of shopping. I got some people's Christmas presents, which is always exciting. I love giving people gifts.

Thanksgiving is over. Now on to Christmas! Two more weeks of school left. We have finals next week, which always ends just right. We tend to get a little crazy by the end of finals and need a release. We have our holiday staff parties. This year our party will be a PJ party! So fun! It is so helpful to have such amazing friends to help you celebrate your last fall semester of college. DeAnna and I are also planning our "Family Christmas" with Daniel, Desiree, Megan (if she can come), and Shane (he is supposed to be coming and if he doesn't he is going to be in so much trouble...just sayin). It is something we do to celebrate with each other before we all head home. We have a tree, stockings, Christmas dinner, and presents. We also always have to go to the San Angelo tour of lights. It is so much fun.

My last Christmas at ASU...that is just weird. I have been in school for about 17 to 18 years (all together) and I am nervous about what comes next. I am excited to get married, but nervous about not being in school anymore. It's like you know what to expect when you are still enrolled, but after that things change. You no longer have that safety blanket that school (or getting your education) provides. You now have to use what you have learned over those 17 years and be successful. That kind of stresses me out!

Anyway we are still waiting on baby Travis to come into the world. He is being very stubborn if you ask me. My poor sister-in-law. She is in so much pain and hasn't slept in about 3 days because she is contracting so much. Lets hope baby comes soon. I'm not sure Candace can take this much longer.

::They say it is supposed to snow tomorrow. I really hope it does. That would be amazing.::

November Nights

This past weekend my friend Shane came in to town. He used to go to ASU with us, but transfered to Midwestern to be closer to his family. Friday night my friends Daniel, Shane, Marissa, DeAnna and I went to 404 to listen to some music and just hang out. After we went back to Daniel's and hung out. Saturday we went to lunch then came home and all got ready for the MAROON 5 concert!!

Daniel, DeAnna, Shane, Desiree and I had a blast! The concert was great. Fitz and the Tantrums opened for them and they turned out to be pretty awesome. Maroon 5 is great in concert. They really know how to get the crowd pumped. Not to forget the lead singer...hot. Just sayin. After the concert our friend Megan came into town from Fort Worth. She wanted to make the concert, but she got away too late. We met up with Casey at Daniels and just relaxed after the concert. We were all pretty worn out. Then later that night I got to drive Shane's truck and it was awesome! It was a really great weekend.
I don't have many more chances to have weekends like this and I am so luck to have such awesome friends to make memories with.

new to this...

Well, Carla got me started on this...thank you Carla, so we will see how it goes. My life is not that interesting, but this can help people keep up with me since I am graduating, getting married and moving. I will try my best to keep up with this, but my job can get crazy and then add school on top of that and then who knows where I am.

A little bit about me...if you don't already know...
My family is from Houston, my fiance is a high school basketball coach and math teacher in Fort Worth and I am in wonderful West Texas...fun. I am a Senior (HECK YEAH!!/FINALLY) at Angelo State University! A wonderful school, check it out! I am majoring in Public Relations and Advertising. I am currently a second year RA (resident assistant) for the wonderful Residential Programs. I am graduating in May and getting married in June! I was born October 5th in Houston. I am the youngest of 3. My sister Paige, who is the oldest, is married with a 12 year old daughter named Bridget. My brother Brian is a Marine. He is married to my awesome sister-in-law Candace, who happens to be expecting their second baby boy! Any day now Travis Scott will be brought into this world and luckily for him he will have a wonderful older brother Clay Arthur. Clay will be in two in January and is growing like crazy. I am a Cubs fan. I love NCIS and the Mentalist. I am scared of elevators...it is a little ridiculous. I don't like milk. I love movies. I am a photographer...I do pretty much everything including weddings.

That is really all I can think of right now.
