It has been too long. Just a few updates this time...nothing to long... Graduation was amazing! Went by so fast. Jordan wasn't supposed to be there and he surprised me! It was an amazing moment. Moved back to Fort Worth. Still looking for a job. You have to have two years of experience before you can get an entry level position in PR. I was too busy with school to do that...we will see what happens. I need a puppy. That is all for now. When I have more time I will update on what life is like now. We shall meet again soon.Kendall Leahhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04169377842954174701noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4787962521815590623.post-84907414153167346892010-11-09T16:18:00.004-06:002010-11-15T18:23:44.241-06:00Floods EverywhereAngelo State University residence halls have been flooding. Ridiculous. A couple of weeks ago the hot water pipe at Texas burst and flooded the whole first floor. The water was ankle deep and ridiculously hot.
Strange how all the water went to one side of the hall. Good construction...very nice.

Then two weeks ago one of my rooms went out to eat and came back and their room was full of water. They toilet had overflowed while they were gone. I was on duty that night. 5 incidents happened all at once that night to I was all over the place. Don't remember too much that happened with that flood. The last flood was a the room next to me. Once again it was a toilet. It kind of seeped into my room. Not bad. Some papers got wet and I had to throw them away. But still...what is with all the floods!?

So I started this post like a week ago when I was at work. Something came up and I forgot all about it until just now.

Soooo lol...
Well not a whole lot has happened. Been kind of quiet. I am so excited that Thanksgiving is just around the corner. We will be spending Thanksgiving this year in Fort Worth with Jordan's family. We were originally planning on going to his grandparents, however, Jordan's grandmother was just diagnosed with colon and liver caner. They started treatment right away so they wont be able to join us. This is very disappointing and hard for us. PLease pray for her and her health.

That pretty much sums it up for now.Kendall Leahhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04169377842954174701noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4787962521815590623.post-70251875599334589552010-10-13T16:50:00.002-05:002010-10-13T16:59:55.238-05:00Finalmente!Aw it is wonderful isn't it? October is bursting with wonderful weather and great memories. One of the best things is that Friday I have my Spanish final! I will be done with Spanish 3 in two days! It is so exciting! Then the following Monday I start Spanish 4, but that is okay.

So for my birthday DeAnna had people over to give me presents and eat cake. Then DeAnna, Daniel and I went to MacAllisters. Yes I did in fact come home and watch Beauty and the Beast. It was wonderful and exactly how I wanted it to be. Then Friday we went and saw Life As We Know It. AMAZING! Love that movie. Everyone should go see it. It really makes you appreciate what and who you have in your life.

This weekend I am going home to relax after my final. Jordan normally wouldn't get home until 3 or 4am Saturday morning, but he told me that he would be home by 1! So excited! I can't wait to see him. I miss him so much. The Saginaw Rough Riders are still losing. Every game so far. Not good. I am not sure what to do with a high school football team that doesn't win. *sigh* They better get on track in the coming years. Otherwise it wont be a good relationship between the Rough Riders and myself.Kendall Leahhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04169377842954174701noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4787962521815590623.post-87485463796243754932010-10-03T20:06:00.010-05:002010-10-03T22:10:30.633-05:00SundayIt has been a long weekend of being on duty. I have been so busy I haven't been able to update. I have been trying to keep up with my friends blogs. That is a lot easier then updating. What has been going on? ...

Spanish has consumed my life. In two weeks I have my final and then I start Spanish 4. It is beginning to take a lot out of me, but I see the light at the end of the tunnel now. Spanish 4 is so close! That is the road that leads me to graduation.

Work has been crazy. Nothing really new, but we are having a lot of incidents. The residents feel the need to push the limits and see how far they can push the rules. It doesn't seem to be working to well for them. We have had fights, alcohol, drugs. We just recently were introduced to a new way to get high. Smoking potpourri apparently gets you toasted really quickly. They smoke it so fast and in such large quantities that it is almost worse then pot. Interesting...who thought of smoking potpourri and why on earth did they not have anything better to do with their life?

We celebrated Desiree's Birthday! on the 20th and the 25th. Her actual birthday is Sept. 20th. We went and ate at Cheddar's because it was a Monday night and all had a rough week ahead of us. Then Friday we went to Sealy Flats and had to sit in the rain. It was good food and great atmosphere besides the rain. Desiree and I both got attacked by my little pink umbrella. It was pretty entertaining. We then went dancing and just had some fun. We couldn't stay out to late because Saturday was Parents Day and we all had to work. Yay!!!!

Then Sunday we had a staff party for doing so well on MapWorks. We had almost all 200 something Freshman take the survey. I believe only one student did not. Most universities only hit 30%. Our residence hall alone hit 98%. RECORD!!! So we got a T-REX CAKE!!!

Then this past week my door was attacked.

The boys who did that (yes they were boys) will be sorry. I warned them that they need to sleep with one eye open. Bahahaha!!!!!

Tuesday is my birthday...makes me sad. I don't want to celebrate or do anything special. I just want to stay at home alone and watch Beauty and the Beast. It has nothing to do with the fact that I am turning 23. That is exciting. It is the fact that I am Kendall Willis and it is my birthday and I don't even get to spend it with my husband. My first birthday as a married woman and I have to spend it away from Jordan. This is what makes me sad. I would like to pretend that it is just another ordinary day. Nothing special at all.
Kendall Leahhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04169377842954174701noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4787962521815590623.post-56899326384549539072010-09-14T22:35:00.002-05:002010-09-14T22:43:25.131-05:00Update? What's that?So I am having trouble updating this bad boy. I just get so busy I forget all about it. Then when I come to update I forget all the stuff that made me so busy. Ah college. Lame.

This weekend I get to go see Jordan. It has been about a month so I guess you could say it is long over due. However, before I leave on Friday I have my second Spanish test. I did well on the first, but I want to do better. I am trying really hard to get that A. I view going to see Jordan as a reward to studying so hard. Fingers crossed!

Tonight I am on duty. We have already had a huge leak. The F300's air conditioner froze over so not there is a huge puddle on water on my floor by our entry door. Wonderful. It seems that each building is beginning to leak. Every week it is something new. A couple of weeks ago it was the hot water into the Commons Conference room. Not good. Then last week some how water was standing in on of my rooms bathrooms. My girls were shocked and it looked like it was coming from the wall. No way it could have come from the shower. It was so random. We still have no idea what caused that. So with all the stress of being on duty I went to visit Hannah in the office of the Commons while she is working desk. We decided to crank up the music and just dance. Sometimes you just have to dance. It really does get rid of all the stress. Wonderful.

With that there is nothing else new. Just trying to get through this semester...alive. Hahaha jk...not really.Kendall Leahhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04169377842954174701noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4787962521815590623.post-46980328904344993882010-09-05T18:03:00.002-05:002010-09-05T18:26:13.994-05:00labor day...weekendWell, another week of school is done and now we are about to go into another. Luckily tomorrow is Labor Day so we don't have school. I used to love Labor Day, but for some reason I am not to excited about it this time around. Maybe because I am here in San Angelo when I am normally in Saginaw. Oh well...two more weeks and I'll be there. I am missing Jordan a lot right now. It is pretty tough. I just want it to me November already. I know I keep saying this, but seriously it is going so slow.

I had my first Spanish Test last week. Not real sure how that went down. I am sure we will see Tuesday. Then this weekend we had family dinner at Desiree's house Friday night and watched Why Did I Get Married Too? It was wonderful and the food was amazing! Sadly it was only Hope, Desiree and I. Everyone else got to go out of town. Lame. Then Saturday I cleaned and moved my room around. I ended up not liking it and moved it back. That was a good moment. After that Des and I went to HEB and got some breakfast food for dinner to have with the Staff. We made eggs, pancakes/chocolate chip pancakes, bacon and cinnamon rolls. Yummy!!! It was so good. Before we made dinner we all went to the first football game of the season. We played Eastern New Mexico and actually played really well. We ended up winning. ASU hasn't won a game in a long time. I forgot what it felt like.

Today we went to Church and all came back to the residence halls. I went and ran errands! I am officially Willis on everything now except for stupid ASU. That wont be done until after Sept. 20th. Ridiculous. I am so used to Willis now, it is hard for me to write or even say Brawner. A professor called out my name for roll and I didn't respond...mainly because I wasn't paying attention, but also because I was waiting for her to say Willis. My bad.

Tomorrow...Labor Day...more like lame day. Don't judge me for not being a fan of Labor Day this year. I just don't like something slowing down classes. I want to get them over with. Anyway I have to work tomorrow so it's not like I even get a Labor Day. I would like to go shopping, but that is not going to happen because we haven't been paid yet. We have been here since Aug. 1st and have not been paid yet. We are all basically living off of Ramen. Seriously. Not good.Kendall Leahhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04169377842954174701noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4787962521815590623.post-14899010595598850302010-08-29T16:18:00.002-05:002010-08-29T16:37:34.411-05:00why does the weekend go by so quickly? My first week of school is over and I am about to start my second. I find myself sitting here wishing it was already November. That would mean that school was almost over. It seems like it is moving so slowly right now. However, come November I will be asking myself where the semester went.

This was a wonderful weekend. Friday we all when over to Hope's for FFN (Family Fun Night) and had a wonderful dinner. After we headed over to Float 404 for an adult beverage. It was just what we needed after a stressful first week. The night was beautiful. We sat out on the dock and just enjoyed the nice breeze and the wonderful Concho River. The first stress free night in a long time and probably the only stress free night for a while. Thank you stupid Spanish. I didn't get a chance to talk to Jordan, but I do know that Saginaw lost their first game. Jordan didn't get home until 10:30 am Saturday. He worked all night breaking down film. Glad I wasn't there.

Saturday I reviewed Spanish (I have a test next week) and just hung around the hall. Then went over to Hope's for dinner. Wonderful as always. We watched The Last Song and had a good cry. Then we sat around and talked for a bit letting out our frustrations. Once again this was a much needed night.

Today we went to Church. When I was walking out to my car I noticed something unusual. After getting closer I realized that some idiot threw a whole thing of spaghetti all over the side of my car. At this point it was hard. I picked Desiree up and we ran to the car wash. It got some off but not all. So after Church we went to Ihop and then I headed home to finish cleaning off my car. After 30 min I finally got it all off and took it back to the car wash and ran it through one more time. I hope whoever did it enjoys whatever karma will bestow upon them.

Now I am procrastinating. It is Sunday and I should be studying, but I am just so tired of it. I hate college and I am so ready to be done.Kendall Leahhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04169377842954174701noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4787962521815590623.post-79141007337808159992010-08-24T15:07:00.003-05:002010-08-24T15:16:57.645-05:00mmm...Hola...Well, my last semester has officially begun. I started yesterday and classes went well. Spanish was not the greatest, but after today it is all starting to come back to me. I am a tad rusty. I have Spanish everyday because it is an intensive class of Spanish 3 and 4. I will be done with Spanish 3 in October and I cannot wait. It has me a little stressed, but I can make it.

After Spanish on Mondays and Wednesdays I go to Communication something at 2...at this point I can't remember the full name, but we get to watch Youtube videos and write about the effects they have on the communications world. It will be pretty fun. Then on Tuesday Thursday I go to Organizational Communications which I have no idea what that will be about, but it should be good.

That is a sum up of what my semester will hold class wise. Lord please give me strength to get through Spanish.Kendall Leahhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04169377842954174701noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4787962521815590623.post-70476786844514668022010-08-21T22:37:00.004-05:002010-08-21T22:57:35.256-05:00As Days Go By...School is only a day away at this point. The residents are here, only 30 left to check in. Every year I forget what check in weekend is really like. The sleepless nights, long working hours, upset/lost freshman. It is a never ending cycle. I am on duty all weekend. Calls have been coming in like crazy. It is shocking how every year the freshman are more and more dependent on their parents and then their RA's. They have a hard time figuring out the next step to take. I blame their parents. You have to give them independence at one point otherwise they wont ever be successful. Ah check in weekend...I am so ready for you to over.

On top of check in my family dog that we have had for the past 14 years had to be put down. His age was beginning to overwhelm him. He also developed dementia. They had given him medicine, but it did not help. A couple of days before he had to be put down he began lacking the ability to stand for longer than 2 minutes. He actually feel into the pool at one point. It is hard. We love Kibbles so much and always will.

My dad has a really hard time going without a dog. So he knew this was coming and called the breeder that we got Kibbles from and they had one last male puppy left. His name is Rocky and is now at home with my parents. They are still hurting over Kibbles, but are welcoming the new addition gracefully. Buddy, the cat, on the other hand is not so thrilled. I am not sure how he is going to react when he realizes Kibbles will not be coming back. He never did like being apart from Kibbles. This will be interesting.

I miss Jordan so much. Sometimes it is really hard for me to talk to him on the phone because I miss him so much. It is a challenge to be away from my other half, my best friend. My staff is wonderful. They know just how to take my mind off of it. We have had many laughs together, but it still doesn't change the fact that Jordan and I are apart. Other then this we are both doing well. Football season has started and his time is limited. Everything is set for his classes and he is so excited to be teaching cal. I am so excited for him. I know he will do great! I love him so much.Kendall Leahhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04169377842954174701noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4787962521815590623.post-33345647911418202692010-08-04T18:02:00.002-05:002010-08-04T18:11:07.481-05:00Hello WorldWell, I am back at school. It is wonderful to be back, but at the same time it stinks.

I love my new staff! We are really busy with in-hall, but are bonding beautifully. For some reason it seems that training is taking forever. Mainly because all we have done is in-hall and haven't really started official training, but in-hall is much harder. We have pre-ins and work orders. It is stressful and by the end of the day we are all worn out.

Our hall theme is superhero. I am doing Captain Planet and having it revolve around diversity! It is so much fun! I cannot wait to decorate my hall! I am in the F100's now. This hall has more rooms then the last hall I was in. This means I can decorate a lot more!

San Angelo hasn't changed much. Let me tell you I am so ready for winter. Today the heat index was like 115. Really? Ridiculous!

Tonight we are making our own personal pizzas! So excited! Maybe I should have charges my camera. Mainly because we don't have internet. I figured it was time when Carla sent me a message on Facebook informing me that I was behind. So where to start...so much has happened...

Well Jordan and I are finally married! We have had an amazing summer together. Lets start there...

We got married on June 18th at the Richmond House in Richmond, Texas. It was so beautiful! Everyone always tells you to take it all in because it will fly by...well, they were right. I really don't remember anything after 6 o'clock. Okay I remember a little...like sitting upstairs waiting for everything to start. And when I look back at the pictures...everything I was feeling at that moment comes rushing back. We had lilac and baby yellow flowers everywhere. The cake was amazing!! It was strawberry with whip cream and the frosting was pretty light. LOVED IT! However, it wasn't until after the wedding that I finally got to have a piece.

It was so beautiful! I am so thankful to have the wonderful man and amazing friends and family in my life. I truly enjoyed sharing this moment with them.

After the wedding we went on a cruise to Jamaica, Grand Cayman and Cozumel. In Jamaica we went to this beach party. The beach was beautiful!

We were able to see a storm slowly move over the island closer to us. It was so neat. When it finally reached us the lifeguard yelled "that is heading straight for us!!" then jumped off of the lifeguard stand (mind you people and children were still in the water) and ran for cover. We were cracking up!

In Grand Cayman we went swimming with dolphins and got to hold baby sea turtles!!!!!! It was so awesome! We took tons of pictures! However, those pictures disappeared. I went back to look at them when we got back and the whole folder was gone. Do you understand what that means? THE PICTURE OF ME HOLDING THE BABY SEA TURTLE (which I named Sanka) IS GONE!!!!!!! sad. And of course it rained on us in Grand Cayman as well. Yay.

After Grand Cayman we went to Cozumel and went snorkeling. It was so neat! After that we went to one of the beaches and hung around for a bit.

We went back to the pier and went shopping! Jordan was a good sport and let me buy a couple of things! He is so sweet. After that we were so tired and headed back to the ship. And guess what happened next...it started raining. haha. Turns out all the rain was a tropical storm slowly building and was soon named Hurican Alex. That was fun. I really couldn't feel the ship move excpet for one night when I saw a curtin moving and I freaked! Of course it didn't help seeing a preview for Poseidon. Yeah good times.

The cruise was amazing! We loved every minute of it and I cannot wait to do it again. We met some great people from our area that we ended up having a lot in common with.

All in all it was wonderful!

So what has been going on after the cruise...lots of traveling. For July 4th we headed to Eastland to go to his grandparents lake house with the family. It was wonderful! We played scene it and I am happy to say that the women are still victorious! After we got back Jordan was offered the Calculus position at Saginaw. It was a long process, but he eventually accepted the offer! Then we went back to Katy for my usual Dr. appointments. We were there Monday and Tuesday. The Wednesday that we left we had a going away party for one the coaches we had to go to. That Thursday we headed to Andrews for Jordan's Dr. appointments and spent the weekend there with his family. We made sure that we got to spend equal time with everyone. So basically this whole summer we spent getting married (lol) and traveling. It has been fun, but all good things must come to an end. This Sunday I have to leave for school. Boo. It all went by so quickly, but it was one of the best summer's of my life.
Kendall Leahhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04169377842954174701noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4787962521815590623.post-3048823152982747872010-05-24T15:30:00.024-05:002010-05-24T16:23:16.654-05:00wedding bells are ringingSaturday Carla finally married her high school sweetheart Kason. It was the most beautiful wedding and just 100% Carla. Elegant and classy. All Carla. I am so happy for them!

We had a blast Friday, the day before the wedding. We first went to Hasta La Pasta and had a wonderful Bridal Luncheon. The food was amazing! Unfortunately I left my take home box there! I was so bummed.

From there we, Carla, Abbie, Joanna, Katie and I went and got our nails done. Abbie and I had hair at noon then took a lunch break and headed out to Brisco Manor around 4. After the group pictures time seemed to pass slowly. We all sat around in the bridal suite just talking and checking the time every five minutes. I was started it get teary eyed. I almost cried walking down the aisle but got it under control. Didn't cry once! Just a little teary that is all.

We finished up the pictures and headed to the reception next door. I have been here since Monday night, however I have been pretty busy. Tuesday I had two doctors appointments and I walked out of my house 30 minutes before the first one and what do you know? I have a flat tire! All I can say is I am soooo happy it didn't happen on the road! So I filled up my tire...found the nail and went on my way. After the appointments went to Discount and they fixed and rotated my tires for free. So wonderful! After that...went home and got ready for the big night!!!

CARLA'S BACHELORETTE PARTY! First we went downtown and ate at Benihana's! Amazing even though it took them an hour to serve us. After that we went back to the hotel by the Galleria and enjoyed some amazing cupcakes. We did a few other things then called it a night about 1am. It was great fun, memorable and hilarious!!

Then yesterday (Wednesday) I had a shopping day with Abbie and Jenny. Found a dress for the rehearsal dinner. Loved it so much I am wearing it to my own. We then went to Charming Charlie's. Jenny's first time there. She loved it! Doesn't everybody? Soooo wonderful. The best place for retail therapy. I bought some new shoes, earrings and a new bracelet to go with my wonderful new dress. Awww the joys! I get to wear my new dress tomorrow and I am so excited! We have the Bridal Luncheon, Nails, and then the rehearsal. I cannot believe that that she is getting married in TWO DAYS!!! TWO DAYS!!! I am so happy for her. It will take everything I can to not cry. My dearest Carla. I love her so much!

Tomorrow will be a wonderful day and it will slowly lead to the most wonderful day in Carla's life. I cannot believe we are grown up and getting married. It is hard to believe that in a few years I will be writing I cannot believe that we are having babies haha. Unbelievable. And yet so exciting...Kendall Leahhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04169377842954174701noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4787962521815590623.post-43453586545069228722010-05-12T18:14:00.002-05:002010-05-12T18:42:15.846-05:00movin on...Aw dearest ASU...I am done with you...for at least the summer. Even though I will be back next semester I don't care.

So six finals in two days was pretty rough. I was hurting pretty bad by the last one which was at 6 on Tuesday. Luckily I haven't had many check outs. My first one was today at 2:30. Shouldn't be too stressful since I only have like 20 residents. I am so ready for them to all be checked out and on their way. We cannot leave until Monday at noon so it is not like it matters how quickly we get them all out, but still. They have to be out by Friday unless told otherwise. It is so much less stressful when they are all out of the building.

So what now? What do we do when we get them all out of the building? Well Sunday we are having our staff gathering in order to end the year on a good note. See we kind of get a little crazy during check outs and bit each others heads off. So for our gathering we are having a Sundae Sunday! We are making epic sundaes. It is going to be the bomb. After that we prepare to leave.

I will get back to Katy who knows when on Monday. Then Tuesday we have Carla's bachelorette party in Houston. That goes until Wednesday! Yay! Then Wednesday and Thursday I have some wedding stuff to do. Finishing touches that sort of thing. Friday we have the rehearsal for Carla's wedding! THEN!!!!!!! Saturday a full day of wonderful wedding events! Carla will finally become Mrs. Knight....long time in the making. Sunday after her wedding I am heading to Saginaw and will be there until the week or our wedding. We have two showers...one in Saginaw and another in Andrews that will have 70 guests...crazy.

These next few weeks will be crazy, but I am sooo ready for them!Kendall Leahhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04169377842954174701noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4787962521815590623.post-52504104455832125492010-05-08T20:27:00.005-05:002010-05-08T20:46:35.704-05:0040 days...40 days. In 40 days I will become Mrs. Willis. I can hardly wait! But while I do lets shower!

Today DeAnna, my wonderful maid of honor, threw me a beautiful bridal shower! Last night DeAnna, Desiree, Elise and I made cookies for the shower while Hope and Erika made the cake and cupcakes. The cookies didn't really come out the way we would have like haha...but the cupcakes and cake looked amazing! Erika and Hope have that talent. The cookies didn't really make it. We were pretty loopy by the time we started decorating, but it was a really fun night. Def. something we all needed. It was like a slumber party. We played wii, watched tv and pigged out. There was also a lot of venting.

The shower was in the CV Skyroom. It was really pretty. DeAnna did a wonderful job on the decorations and she came up with some really creative and fun ideas for games and gifts. Everyone wrote down their best wishes for Jordan and I and then their best memory of us. Hope wrote my favorite one..."Mrs. Willis, Ireland is calling." When the Germans came and we were checking them I said that I looked forward to when I was a very well known PR practitioner and my secretary would come over the intercom saying, "Mrs. Willis, Ireland is calling." Hope just about fell on the floor and I didn't realize all of the Germans had overheard me. It was pretty funny. Good memory.

Anyway I was so happy to share that with some wonderful people. I am so thankful to have such amazing friends.

Kendall Leahhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04169377842954174701noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4787962521815590623.post-2231194459604092482010-05-06T18:51:00.003-05:002010-05-06T20:12:43.043-05:00rollin with the punchesIt has been one tough week. Monday afternoon a resident died in a car accident. We still don't know exactly what happened, just that it was a one vehicle crash. She was only 18.

She was on a road I travel often when I go see Jordan. She was on the "Y" in Tuscola and lost control. A lot of people speed at the point where it veers off. You are supposed to slow down to 60, but that rarely happens. I always do because it has a sudden curve to it. It makes me nervous. It has been sad here the past couple of days. We had to pack up her belongings for her roommate to take them back home. It is part of the job. It sucks, but it is the job.

This really opened our eyes.Kendall Leahhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04169377842954174701noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4787962521815590623.post-61978064618816250862010-05-02T19:40:00.012-05:002010-05-02T20:09:00.106-05:00looking back on yesterdayIt is the Sunday before dead week. How unreal it is. I began to look back. Remembering how amazing the last 4 years have truly been. I came to Angelo State in August of 2006. I knew no one. Luckily I was blessed with the most amazing roommate DeAnna, who is my maid of honor. She and her boyfriend Daniel have been a huge part of my college life. They are not my friends, they are my family. I am so grateful for them.

Friday night we watched Blind Side and had Papa John's pizza. I couldn't help but remember our first time ordering Papa John's. It was freshman year in the wonderful Mary Massie. We ordered the pizza and planned on watching a movie. The pizza seriously took an hour to be delivered. I remember Daniel and I walking around the lobby (back then it used to have orange shag carpet on the walls haha) waiting for they guy while watching the Heisman Trophy results.

It is crazy. Daniel is graduating in two weeks. Where did college go?

<img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5466842860226213650" style="DISPLAY: block; This is where all the new and returning RA's come together with Res Pro and learn where we will be and who are staff is for next year. We first had to spell out a quote about leadership..."You can't lead a cavalry charge if you think you look funny on a horse." I might have butchered that quote, but if I remember correctly that is it. It took us forever to figure it out. We each had one letter and had to run around and find other people to make a word. It ended up being so long we had to make a giant circle in order for everyone to fit. It was interesting. While we were standing in that circle they passed out envelops. They were blank, but had name tags on the inside that also told us our place. We had to find the person the name tag belonged to and present them with the good news. I really don't remember who gave me mine. I think it was Ravi. Anyway my name was in yellow, which means I am an RA III and it said Centennial Village! I will be back at the be CV next semester. It will only be for four months, but it will be great. Another chance to work with a wonderful staff. AND Chaz will be joining me! Welcome back to the CV CHAZ! haha!

So I am pretty excited. I am looking forward to another good last semester haha. See I can joke about it now...kind of.Kendall Leahhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04169377842954174701noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4787962521815590623.post-5547888089289429452010-04-22T19:32:00.001-05:002010-04-22T19:50:22.425-05:00as time goes by...It always seems that time takes forever to pass or passes to quickly. As the days dwindle down until my wedding, I have noticed that I am being challenged. Challenged to be patient and instead of trying to rush time by, to just enjoy it. Difficult would be an understatement. I find myself at the end of the day regretting how impatient I was with people, school or even myself. I get so aggravated so easily and I never used to be like that. I blame it on my road rage, but that has just increased because people in San Angelo can't drive. That is another story for another day.

Road rage is not it at all. It is me. How can I fix this? I am learning to take a step back and reevaluate the situation. I am trying to assess the situation before reacting. I hate regretting actions that I have made. That is why I try so hard to think before acting and sometimes talking. I need patience. I can't get mad just because I am the one that hits the red light. I can't get mad because I feel like my professor just likes to hear himself talk when in reality I should be listening because it could be important. I can't get mad because some one is walking soooo slow in front of me. I just can't. I shouldn't.

I used to have a lot of patience. I feel that the closer it gets to my wedding the more I lose them. Patience that is. I am so excited and just so ready to be married and be with my husband. My best friend. The one that makes the worst day awesome because he knows just how to make me smile or just how to hold me.

On a daily basis someone asks me..."are you ready to get married?" HELLO!!!! Heck yeah I am!! every time they ask it takes up my thought process. For the rest of the day that is all I can think about. Then I notice my patience slowly decrease for that day. The closer it gets the more anxious I get. I just want it to be here already!! See losing patience.

So patience, I ask you to please return. I took you for granted and have seen the light. Time seems to pass with more ease when you have patience. Patience truly is a virtue.Kendall Leahhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04169377842954174701noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4787962521815590623.post-87332431479483576992010-04-19T17:08:00.000-05:002010-04-21T12:11:28.008-05:00these are the days it never rains but it pours...Amarillo...where to begin? So last Wednesday Ad Club went to Amarillo for our competition that we have worked so hard for. It was a fun and eventful drive up there. About 30 min outside of Lubbock we stopped in Post to make sure we all met up for lunch. While we were waiting Sadie rolled down Travis's back window and it fell and wouldn't roll back up. Now it is pretty funny, but then not so much. It was pretty cold outside and a little rainy. So I followed Travis to the ford dealer while the others went on to meet us for lunch when we were done. We pulled into the dealer, Travis went up and got the guy and he walked up and pressed the button and it rolled up. Really truck? Really? lol. So we moved on and headed to Spanky's for lunch. It was really really good.

We got to Amarillo about two and half hours later. Should have been three, but there was zero traffic and we were making really awesome time. Got there and I am still confused on how we got to the hotel, but we did and we beat Travis. How on earth did that happen? He was flying man. At that point it started raining...and continued to rain the whole trip.

We checked in and got comfortable for like two seconds. We set up our PowerPoint and what do you know? Our videos didn't play. We didn't have a Mac and that is all they would play on. Worked at the school, but wouldn't work on my computer. We were freaking out, but didn't have time to deal with it because we had to go to orientation, which seriously took forever. Got to see all the schools that were there...TSU, SMU, Baylor, Sam, A&M just to name a few. So after that we ordered pizza and started to panic a little bit. Videos weren't working at all and no one knew how to fix it. So each one of us posted shout outs on our Facebook status to anyone in Amarillo who had a Mac. Tyler ended up remembering two friends from high school who could fix it. So Tyler and Travis went to meet these guys and took my computer with them. While two of our men presenters were gone, Anna-Marie, Brad, Sadie and I ran lines. We were getting pretty nervous. I was not a presenter, but I did write the script and I coached them. So I would say I was pretty nervous...maybe not as much as the presenters, but a good amount.

They ended up fixing the computer just in time! It was around 10:40ish or later at the point. I really wanted the presenters to be in bed by 10 since we had to be up at 4:30am in order to present at 7:30am. Yeah that didn't happen. We had to make some changes to the PowerPoint, which Anna-Marie did all of it, while Sadie and I fought away sleep. Finally went to be at 12:30ish. I woke up at 3:50am and started to get ready. I woke the presenters up at 5am and got them going. They all ran lines while getting dressed and ready to go. They all looked so nice.

At 6:50am we all went down there and practiced some more with PowerPoint. It was 7:20am when the doors opened. I just about fell out of my chair I was so nervous. I knew the presenters could do it. They knew their lines and had been practicing for more than a week. They started at 7:30am and freakin rocked it!! I think out of all 10 pages of the script only one line was missed and that is really really good. They did so great!!! I mean seriously they were amazing!!! So proud!

It was over! We went upstairs and changed. I went and had breakfast with Brad, Tyler and Travis. It was pretty good. After that I met up with Anna-Marie and Sadie and we spent the rest of the day watching all the other schools. Find out that while we were at lunch SFA went. We missed it. Guess what their campaign was? WTF!!!!! NOT LYING!!!! We were pretty upset. Not at them, but at our stupid department and dang Smith for making us change it and calling us idiots. They owe us an apology. And we will get one.

Anyway we had an hour before the big dinner where you find out how everyone placed. Anna-Marie, Sadie and I tried to take a nap. They were successful, however every time I would get to a good place one of the boys would knock on the door. Silly boys.

We went to dinner and there was this speaker that either had nothing to do with what our competition revolved around or we were just to stupid to understand him. I'm pretty sure we are all really smart. Just saying. After he was finished they finally got to the awards!! "Congratulations to Angelo State University!" We freakin got 3rd runner up!!! That is the highest ASU has ever placed. I think we deserved better, but hey that is still really awesome! It was such an exciting moment! I am so proud of the presenters and the team! JASON B. STEELE IS OUR HERO!!! (you would have to be in ad club to understand, however please check out his website at http://www.jasonbsteele.com/ ) you can also see the website he created for us at www.jasonbsteele.com/asu-what )

That night (the dinner ending about 10 something or later can't even remember) we were all going to go out, however Anna-Marie, Sadie and I were all dead tired. We just couldn't do it.

We woke up and were downstairs for breakfast at 7 am. Didn't start until 8, but we had our reasons. We ended up having to leave the breakfast early because once again they had a speaker who took forever. We were on the road by 9 or 9:30ish and got home around 2:30 or 3. All in all it was a great great great trip! Gotta love Ad Club.Kendall Leahhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04169377842954174701noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4787962521815590623.post-64062896768518154002010-04-11T16:21:00.000-05:002010-04-11T16:38:42.316-05:00talk about toughTalk about a tough weekend. Our advertising competition is just days away. Last week (Thursday) we went to a friends how to shoot the commercial. In the midst of it all, I jumped into the air. Mind you it was pretty cold out and I did not have a jacket on. Anyway I jumped up and my ring flew off and into the neighbors yard. Yep that's right. We started searching for it at 6:30. Got a metal detector and continued to look until 10. Seriously I lost all hope. Friday, DeAnna, Brad and I were out there at 6:30am to start searching. Around 10 Brad, Rick and I went to Lowe's and tried to get a lawn vac. Didn't work. So we started using the neighbors shop vac. Yeah we were vaccuuming the lawn. Around 12 more people showed up to help. About 1:30 we gave up. It wasn't there. I mean we tore that yard apart. Called the police and filed a report just incase someone found it and took it to the pawn shops. It was tough. Tough. Tough. Tough.
It was about 8:30pm Friday night when I got a phone call. It was Sadie (it was her house that we were using). The neighbor pulled all the weeds on the other side of the lawn and FOUND MY RING!!!!!! It is now glued to my finger. No lie. Amazing amazing night. After giving up they found it! So happy.

I have been on duty all weekend and so happy. It is tough though because I wont see Jordan for a month and a half. I miss him soooo much. He is the most amazing man in my life. I am so thankful for him. When I told him that I had lost the ring he just laughed and said not to worry. "It is just a material thing," he said. It was so great that he was so understanding, but I still felt so bad. It was so amazing to call him and tell him the good news. He was pretty happy.

34 more days. Freedom is just around the corner my friends.Kendall Leahhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04169377842954174701noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4787962521815590623.post-80499497586552427462010-04-04T18:44:00.000-05:002010-04-04T19:18:33.292-05:00someday...Aw dear sweet someday...when will you ever get here? Someday I wont have to come home to a dorm room. Someday I will be able to sit down after church on Sunday and relax with my husband instead of driving 4 hours. Someday...and that someday is a lot sooner than it feels like...I will be married to my best friend in the whole world. 2 months and 14 days...75 days...which ever way you wanna say it...it is coming up. However, to me it still feels so far away. I am just so ready for it to be here. I am tired of saying good-bye to the man I love. I am tired of all the crying and hurt that comes with driving into San Angelo. Don't get me wrong, I love San Angelo, but I love Jordan sooo much more. Anywhere he is I want to be. I Y Jordan.

It was Good Friday week last week!! Short week, which was nice. Thursday we went and saw The Last Song!!!!!!!! AMAZING! Normally I do not like Miley Cyrus, but she did amazing. Bravo Miley. Bravo. Then Friday I drove up to Andrews, Texas to visit the wonderful future in-laws and register for more wedding gifts. It was so much fun. Picked out the dishes and soooooo much more. Probably not enough for all the people who are coming to the Andrews shower. I think the guest list is at about 70 people. Exciting!! Later that night Jordan got in and well by that time I was ready for bed. It was pretty late. Then Saturday Jordan and I woke up early and headed to Lubbock. We went to Thacker's and picked out my gorgeous wedding band. It is so much more that I could have hoped for. So beautiful and so me. I really think Jordan liked it too. Then we ate at McAllister's and headed back to Andrews. We got home and just relaxed. Had dinner and enjoyed the Duke basketball game. Way to go Duke!!! Jordan was pretty excited and then really nervous. He is a big Duke fan. All in all it was a wonderful weekend. However, it was missing someone...Kenz (future sister-in-law), but she will be back in Texas soon enough.

Now to get the rest of this semester over with. 40 days. 40 DAYS. 40 days. I can do this. Semester please hurry up so someday will come a whole lot sooner!!Kendall Leahhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04169377842954174701noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4787962521815590623.post-91884824881607130962010-03-26T21:59:00.000-05:002010-03-26T22:12:27.313-05:00centennialWell, I am finally here. I gradually moved stuff in throughout the week, but it was today that wore me out. I moved almost everything. Still a few things left behind. I was just too tired to get them.

I am on the first floor and actually enjoy not having to climb stairs since I have been at ASU. It made it a whole lot easier to move stuff in also. My room is really nice. I have a small kitchen area, living room, bedroom and of course a bathroom. Unlike Massie, it is an apartment style room. It is not perfect yet and I am still trying to figure out where everything goes, but soon enough it will all be done. My goal is to have it done by the end of the weekend. I have no idea how I got so much stuff, but it is a bit ridiculous.

Wedding update:: After we picked the cake and flowers we went out to the church. Awful. They have not maintained what was a brand new building. We called them to cancel and they have yet to call us back. That was a week ago. What bad customer service. Ridiculous. So we are now having the ceremony at the Richmond House along with the reception. I had originally wanted it that way, but decided not to. Looks like I made a mistake there. All along it was meant to be.

School update:: Ad club...I have talked about it before. We are a class of about 28 people and we create and ad campaign and compete against big name schools like TCU and what not. This year is State Farm...remember WTF? Well we changed it and still continued to get into trouble. Our advisor and department have shown us no support and with competition just weeks away, we are struggling in more ways than one. We need money in order to go right? Well, SOLF, who gives money to Student Orgs is all out of money...never happened before. Talked to the university...out of money. Talked to department...don't want to support us, however, one professor after chewing us out and basically telling us that we will fail and just destroying us is giving us $1,000. Shock. Guess she felt bad. We need at least $5,000. So we are running around town asking for donations and fighting to make it. We are the underdog and this year we actually have a chance. We are the bomb, no joke. Fingers crossed.Kendall Leahhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04169377842954174701noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4787962521815590623.post-90597008851522788272010-03-17T22:42:00.000-05:002010-03-17T23:00:52.004-05:00three hundred and sixty fiveI have decided to accept the 365 challenge after Jordan and I say 'I do'. The 365 challenge is where you take one picture a day for a whole year. I figure that this will be a great way to remember and capture our first year of marriage. I am actually pretty excited about it. I love taking pictures and it just sounds fun.

Anyway it is spring break. It is nice to finally be away from school. Update:::They shut down my floor. This means all of my residents have to move. I have to move also. A month left of school and we have to move...yay. I am moving to Centennial. It will be a new adventure and I look forward to it. I will miss my current staff dearly, but it is what it is.::: We have been doing wedding stuff all week. We got into town Sunday afternoon and Sunday evening we had our first shower! It was great fun. My sister and sister-in-law hosted it and did a great job. Love them!!

Then Monday we really didn't do a whole lot. My mom and I went shoe shopping to find better shoes for the wedding. Found them. They are life changing. Then Jordan and I went to the rodeo with my brother and sister-in-law. Good times. I really enjoy hanging out with them when we get a chance. We don't get to see them to much. Tuesday we ordered the invitations and just relaxed. It was a rainy day and one of those that make you want to just stay inside and watch a movie.

Today was Bridal Portrait Day! We went out to The Richmond House and took some amazing pictures thanks to my awesome photographer from Englexas Photography. It was great fun. I went and got my hair done and it looked so good! Christina is just amazing with my hair. It didn't take to long, which was awesome because I was pretty tired after about an hour haha.

Tomorrow we are going to pick the cake, flowers and menu. I am just ready to be done and have everything ready to go for the big day. We are also getting our pass ports and finalizing the tuxes tomorrow! So exciting!

So far it has been a wonderful Spring Break.
Kendall Leahhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04169377842954174701noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4787962521815590623.post-61722081664082847022010-03-05T16:45:00.000-06:002010-03-05T16:54:28.827-06:00jealousI was at peace with not graduating, but for some reason it just made me really mad. I guess that will happen. You get burnt out and just can't wait for it to all be over, but then you realize that you have one more semester. I can understand why I got mad. Whatever...it's lame.

Spring is in the air. Well today not so much, but yesterday was amazing. I always find myself wanting everything to be brighter...color wise that is. Like I was my clothes to be bright colors and I want my room to be bright. I don't know it just puts me in a cheery mood. I love SPRING! I am ready for Spring Break. We will be getting into Houston Saturday night and our first shower is on Sunday. Then Monday we are going to the Rodeo with my brother and sister-in-law! Fun times! Tuesday tuxes, Wednesday bridal portraits, Thursday cake testing, flower picking, menu finalizing, and decor finalizing, Friday back to Saginaw with our new dining room furniture! How exciting! Sounds a bit busy, but in between we will have a lot of pool time and relaxing. So happy! Sometimes I wish we just went to the JP with our families and closest friends then had a big party. Seems like it would have been a whole lot less complicated. I really don't care how we get married anymore as long as we get married. Less is more, right?Kendall Leahhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04169377842954174701noreply@blogger.com1
